We’re proud to announce the formation of the SPEEDVAGEN x MAAP CX team. A partnership with Portland, Oregon based bike manufacturer The Vanilla Workshop.
The team will race domestically for the Australian season, and then turn its attention to selected international events.
The team is led by Garry Millburn, who has represented Australia at multiple Cyclocross World Championships, and was crowned Australian CX Rider of the Year in 2015.
The partnership with Speedvagen came about through a mutual respect, and an initial conversation about kit design. “We began chatting to Sacha and Jenn in late 2015 about designing and producing their 2016 national kit. The more we chatted the more we realised we had similar ambitions in the CX world. We set about joining forces on an Australian based team, which has also resulted in some really great products being developed. ” - Ollie Cousins, co-founder of MAAP.
Joining Garry on the SPEEDVAGEN x MAAP Cyclocross Team are Jeff Curtes and Andy Rogers.
"The collaboration with MAAP just felt natural to us. Australia is a big part of the Speedvagen story, continuing to tell it with Garry, Jeff, and the SVxMAAP team makes a ton of sense. Working together on the bikes and the kit has been a really fun project, looking forward to seeing lots of muddy smiles!" - Sacha White, founder of The Vanilla Workshop.
The guys will be training and racing in the Field Collection, which is available for sale through MAAP retailers and online directly here, and comes in a wide range of products including skinsuits, long sleeve jerseys, bibs and more.
The team is supported by major partners ENVE Composites and SRAM and GIRO. A full list of team sponsors can be found below.
